Our sodiers

          Abad boumsong

A French poet and a producer-composer from Brooklyn (New-York); At first sight two incompatible things, however it is the improbable association between Abad, avant-gardist and gifted poet and Dany Brown, eponymous producer of the Americai label Daswing.prodz

Abad is a pure product of poetry, having studied the classics, Hugo, Baudelaire, Rimbaud, Alfed de Musset and others have no secrets for him, so he writes books, like his first collection "The Book of Nothingness" for which he does not hesitate to collaborate with Patrick Poivres D'Arvors, Omar Sy, Sara Forestier, Fred Testot, Sabrina Ouazani and many others to bring poetry to life with the general public.

It is perhaps this obsession to make live the poetry by going far from the beaten track which makes that Abad decides to leave the book for the recording studios. He creates a new style that he calls Pop-Poetry; "I want to be to poetry, what Michael Jackson was to pop"; His writing is a mixture of influences as diverse as those of the poets of the 19th century, but also urban influences corresponding to the environment in which Abad lived when he arrived in France at the age of 16, coming from Cameroon his native country.

Abad is convinced that the poet must become a kind of entertainer or totally disappear, drowned in a world that has become hostile to words. Pop-poetry is therefore not only music for him but a fight for survival.
