Wyane Mickens
Wyane Mickens was born on January 10, 1990 and raised in the Brownsville section of Brooklyn New York. At the early age of3, Wyane began singing and dancing. From thereon, it was beginning to be' known that he was developing a musical influence. While in pre-scheel, many of his teachers began to take notice that he loved singing and decided that forWyane's kindergarten graduation he should sing their graduation song, "The Candy Man"
Wyane was a very shy and quiet individual. At times he was even too shy to sing for family members closest to him. He attended Elementary school P. S 150 at the age of six. After school he would go home and singevery song thathe knewat the top of his lungs
, turning the music at the highest volume that it can possibly go. From there, he had strong , aspirations to become a very popular singer. '
Deeply inspired by Patti Labelle, Deborah Cox, Luther Vandross, and many others, he , began to memorize their songs and sing them for family memberssuch as his closest
cousin's. Realizing his talent, they often sang with him, making up choreography to the many songs they would sing and often perfomi forall of his family. At the age of 9, he surprisingly got a cassette tape filled with classic hits by Patti Labelle and the Bluebells learning all the word to each and every song by heart and putting on imaginary shows in the living room.
Because of his musical interest, he began to work hard in school and get good high marks in all of his classes, and trains his voice each night as he had gotten home after school. After graduating from P. S. 150, he attend 1. S. 323 in 2002. There, he received outstanding grades, earning mm 2 scholarships one in the seventh grade and one in the eighth grade. I. S.323 would often have a music program. At every audition, he would be
. the first to go try out, trying to show off his voiee as much as he ean during his last days of his senior years ofmiddle school, Wyane sang for his favorite English teacher and his
. classmates while learning their graduation songs "The worlds greatest" by R.Kelly and "My Life Is ln Your Rands" by Kirk Franklyn.
After hearing his voice they were amazed and wanted him t6 sing a song for the graduation but it was too late. He graduated with a 94.0 grade point average.
Because of his grades, he was accepted to Brooklyn High School of the Arts vocal music department. There he meet friends Lonique Crawley and Stephen "Vaugn" Middleton. While studying music theory, the guys bonded and found they had a strong friendship.
