Skova

 

 

Skova is a Parisian artist, inspired by the Hip-Hop and Raggamuffin culture.

Since his adolescence, music is the essence that gives rhythm to his life.

In the 90's, with his group Né-Fast, he played many concerts and released several opuses produced by Global Vibes.

In the 2000s, he joined the Irie Member sound system collective with which he continued to perform live and release several books.

With more than 400 musical scenes to his credit, Skova has mostly performed in Paris and its suburbs, but also throughout France and abroad.

In the capital alone, he has performed in venues such as the Élysée Montmartre, the New Morning, the Divan du Monde, the Pigall's, the Glazart and the Flèche d'Or.

He also participated in many festivals such as Les Francofolies, Les EffervEssonne, the Gala Essiée, Le Passage, les nouvelles scènes, the Tsing Tsing festival in Vannes or the Vilnius festival in Lithuania.

Skova has made a name for himself in many bars, cabarets, discotheques, barges, train stations, spaces, neighborhood parties, parks, carnivals, MJCs and cultural centers such as Paul Bailliart's in Massy or L'usine in Geneva, Switzerland.

He has multiplied concerts throughout France, whether in Bordeaux, Marseille, Perpignan, Strasbourg or in the Splendid concert hall in Lille.

Skova also contributed to defend causes that he felt were right, not hesitating to give his voice to the benefit of sick children at the Necker Hospital, the Telethon TV or at the Place de la Nation, in an anti-G-20 concert for peace and future world issues.

He has supported many associations such as Restos du Coeur, Ni putes Ni soumises, Ras L'front or Art Sport Entraide with which he went to Chile to represent the French delegation at the national festival of folklore in San Bernardo, to perform a song on human rights at the town hall of Santiago in the presence of the Prime Minister, She also performed a message of love and unity on a national television channel, and above all, she advocated for the equal distribution of the world's wealth throughout the country. She shared her art with the elderly in retirement homes, with young people in difficulty who had just been released from prison, and with the poorest people living in the slums.

Skova has gone to different schools and universities to teach teachers about hip-hop culture, and has been a trainer for artistic expression courses, notably with the Créteil academy for music in the suburbs.

Although unknown to the general public, Skova has already opened for many artists such as Afu-Ra, Admiral T, Gentleman or Les Tambours du Bronx.

He has shared stages with many artists such as Fabe, Sir Samuel (Saïan Supa Crew), Kery James, La Cliqua, 2 Bal 2 Neg', Les Derniers Messagers, Driver, Busta Flex, Les Refrés, Cappa Donna (Wu-Tang), Afro Jazz, Dj Poska, Dj LBR, Koma, Ménage A Trois, Beat De Boul, Menelik, Diam's, Supernatural, La Brigade, Ganja Tree, Earl 16, Michael Prophet, the Teknocrates, Mapuka, Nucleus Roots, Mike Brooks, Baby G, Horace Andy, U Roy, De La Soul, Tiken Jah-Fakoly, Dj Mehdi, Raggasonic, Féfé Typical, China, Princess Anies, Tepa, Dj Dee Nasty, Johnny Clegg, Wallen, Tryo, Grégoire, Bronco Knowledge, Cesária Évora and many others. ..

During his journey, Jane Birkin and Charlotte Gainsbourg listened to him and Melody Nelson gave him the right to release the cover of the title "Je suis venu te dire que je m'en vais" by Mr.Serge Gainsbourg.
